Wimax Japan Speed Tweaks

Increase your speeds for better Netflix and Hulu HD streaming performance.

WiMax Japan speed tweak tips to help you get faster speeds/better reception. The configuration has shown to work well with the Japan URoad Home and the URoad 9000 WiMax devices. You can also modify the instructions to configure other WiMax devices.

JUMP TO ADAPTER PLACEMENT HELP SECTION

- PLACEMENT - Place WiMax receiver near or on a window. Try different windows in the house if possible to find best signal.

- SETTINGS - URoad Home and 9000 have 2 WiFi connections available. Only one is given to you by default, but you can select a WPS connection if you look at the settings in your router. Read on…

1. Type or click on 192.168.100.254 into your browser.
2. Enter default username/password (admin/admin).
3. Click on ワイヤレス設定.
4. Click on WPS 設定.
5. Finally, connect your WiFi devices to the WPS connection (sometimes called URoadWPS-27973C) WPS キー passcode number that comes up. It is a WPA2 connection that works much better.

We’ve clocked speeds are at times DOUBLE what the default connection gives. The setting change may or may not increase your speeds. It did for us and others in Japan so it is definitely worth a try.

This should work for other WiMax devices but some of the options may be slightly different.

How to properly position your WiMAX device for best reception:

Placing your modem near a window or an external wall that’s closest to and facing the nearest tower is suggested for receiving the best signal. Try to find a placement spot with the least number of obstacles between the modem and the tower.

Also, please be sure that your modem is at least 3 feet away from any microwaves, cordless phones, wireless routers, stereo speakers, etc., to avoid any frequency interference.

For excellent WiMAX Japan speed you will need to ensure that a minimum of TWO [LEDs or signal strength bars are displayed]. The more LED lights [or bars] that are lit up, the stronger your signal.

To ensure your optimal signal in your location – twist the entire modem unit on it’s base clockwise, in small 1/4″ increments – waiting 15-20 seconds in between twists to allow for an accurate indication of a signal’ (If you were able to determine the location of the nearest tower, rotate your modem to face that tower).

Because of potential obstacles between you and a signal tower you might be surprised where your best signal connection will be made. Try different bedrooms, the kitchen, the attic or even the garage. Once you locate the strongest possible signal in your location, reconnect the modem to the computer.

This setup is for URoad Home and URoad-9000 WiMax devices and can probably be similarly applied to other Japanese WiMax devices to use Unblock Us Japan.

1. Sign up for a FREE 1 week trial with UnBlock-US (no strings…no credit card needed…just your email address) HERE.

2. When connected to the internet through your WiMax device, type (or click HERE) 192.168.100.254 in your web browser address bar.

3. Click on which means “INTERNET SETTINGS”

4. Click on to get to the DNS Settings page.

5. This should be approximately what you see:

6. Enter the proper DNS numbers provided to you from Unblock-us.com and ensure the highlighted areas are selected as in the image above. Click the button at the bottom to apply the settings. Unit will reboot. You are now using UnBlock Us Japan WiMax style!
